FPA’s Pregnancy Choices Counselling Service is the only service that offers counselling, support and information on all options for women in Northern Ireland.
The service is confidential.
What's non-directive counselling?
Non-directive counselling means the counsellor has no opinion about what's best for you and is there to provide a safe and confidential place for you to explore your thoughts and feelings regarding your pregnancy.
What will happen at my appointment?
Whether you're thinking about continuing with your pregnancy or considering abortion or adoption, the counsellor will take you through the practical aspects of each choice and provide helpful information.
There will be time for you to ask questions and if you want to arrange a follow-up appointment, this can be organised at the end of your session with your counsellor.
For an appointment or to find out more call FPA in Northern Ireland on 0345 122 8687.
We also offer counselling for women who've had an abortion. Any woman who's had an abortion can use this service, regardless of her age, or where or when she had the abortion.

Abortion in Northern Ireland
Abortion is legal in Northern Ireland but only in exceptional circumstances. Because of the restrictive laws in Northern Ireland, most women who decide to have an abortion are forced to travel to England.
Recent government changes mean that women no longer have to pay for the abortion procedure and women experiencing financial hardship are entitled to free travel, as well accommodation if necessary.
FPA counsellors in Northern Ireland can provide you with information about this during a non-directive counselling session. This information won't be given over the phone.
