Growing up with Yasmine and Tom receives PSHE Accreditation Quality Mark

FPA is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the PSHE Quality Mark for best-selling RSE educational programme, Growing up with Yasmine and Tom.
The quality mark was awarded in March 2020, after meeting the ten principles of effective PSHE education required to be a recommended resource [1]. The PSHE Association’s Quality Mark process considers all resources against ten principles of best practice in PSHE education and other research into effective teaching and learning in the subject including (but not limited to); provision of a safe and supportive learning environment for all learners, presenting information in a positive and learner-friendly way, usingโ active teaching and learning techniques to engage pupils and to develop their understanding, knowledge and skills and provide information that is up-to-date, realistic and relevant to pupils’ lives.

The PSHE Association is the national body for Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education, leading the effort to ensure that every pupil receives high-quality provision. For Growing up with Yasmine and Tom to satisfy the ten principles of effective PSHE education demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality resources for teachers and their pupils.

Growing up with Yasmine and Tom includes guidance on the building blocks to friendships, family relationships, and relationships with peers and adults. It teaches kindness and taking turns, treating each other with kindness, consideration and respect, permission seeking and giving, and the concept of personal privacy[i].
Growing up with Yasmine and Tom is written by teachers, for teachers and has received continual feedback for its development into a market-leading PSHE resource. With the announcement in March 2019, that Relationships Education would become statutory in Primary Schools from September 2020 – Version 2 is completely in line with the PSHE Association principles for education of youngsters aged 5-11.
